History

Bruce First Baptist Church was organized in Spetember 1928, mothered by Mt. Comfort Missionary Baptist Church, which was organized in 1870.  A building was constructed and began to function immediately after the vote to transfer the church to the town of Bruce.

The church is presently pastored by Dr. Gary Roberson.  During the 89 year span, there have been 17 other pastors and seven interims at Bruce First Baptist.

The Christian Life Center was built in 1994 and dedicated in 1995.  The sanctuary and office area were completely renovated in 2003.

Bruce First Baptist Sunday morning and evening and Wednesday evening church services are broadcast live on Bruce's local television station, WO7BN.  The television ministry was begun by the late Harry and Bernie Waller.

The Creative Learning Center day care opened its doors in 1981.  This outreach program ministers to around 30 families per year.

Our mission groups cover a wide range of people and activities.  Active groups are Brotherhood, Ladies WOM, BWM, RA's, GA's, and Mission Friends.
